Data Sharing Policy

The Asian Bulletin of Green Management and Circular Economy (ABGMCE) supports transparent, reproducible and responsible research. Authors are encouraged to make the data, materials and documentation supporting their published findings publicly available whenever ethical, legal, contractual and confidentiality requirements permit.

Research Data

Research data may include:

  • Quantitative and qualitative datasets
  • Survey instruments and questionnaires
  • Interview guides and anonymised transcripts
  • Statistical codes and software scripts
  • Experimental protocols and research materials
  • Tables, figures and supplementary files
  • Other materials required to verify or reproduce the findings

Data Availability Statement

Every research article must include a Data Availability Statement, even when no data can be shared. The statement should identify where the supporting data can be accessed or explain why access is restricted.

Authors may use one of the following statements:

Publicly available data:

The data supporting the findings of this study are available in [Repository Name] at [DOI or permanent URL].

Data available on request:

The data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.

Restricted data:

The data are not publicly available because of ethical, legal, contractual, privacy or confidentiality restrictions. Access may be considered upon reasonable request and subject to the required approval.

No new data:

No new data were created or analysed in this study. Data sharing is not applicable.

Data included in the article:

All data supporting the findings of this study are included in the article and its supplementary materials.

Repository Deposit

Where possible, authors should deposit data in a recognised institutional, disciplinary, general-purpose or funder-approved repository that provides:

  • A persistent identifier, preferably a DOI
  • A stable public record
  • Clear access and reuse conditions
  • Appropriate metadata
  • Long-term preservation

The dataset citation and permanent link must be included in the manuscript.

Sensitive and Restricted Data

Authors must not publicly disclose data containing:

  • Personally identifiable information
  • Confidential commercial information
  • Protected health information
  • Sensitive community or participant information
  • Data restricted by law, contract, consent or ethics approval

Sensitive data must be properly anonymised before sharing. If anonymisation is not reasonably possible, authors must explain the restriction in the Data Availability Statement.

Participant Consent and Ethical Approval

Data involving human participants may only be shared in accordance with informed consent, institutional ethical approval and applicable privacy laws. Authors must ensure that data sharing does not expose participants to identification, discrimination, harm or breach of confidentiality.

Data During Peer Review

Editors or reviewers may request access to supporting data when necessary to evaluate a manuscript. Any confidential data provided during peer review will be handled securely and used only for editorial assessment.

Failure to provide requested supporting data without a valid ethical, legal or confidentiality reason may result in rejection, correction, expression of concern or retraction.

Data Citation

Datasets must be cited in the reference list where appropriate. A data citation should include:

  • Creator or author
  • Dataset title
  • Year
  • Repository name
  • Version, where applicable
  • DOI or permanent URL

Authors must acknowledge data obtained from third parties and comply with the original licence and terms of use.

Data Licensing

Authors should apply an appropriate open licence to publicly deposited data, such as CC BY 4.0 or CC0, where legally and ethically permissible. The selected licence must be clearly displayed in the repository record.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, integrity, documentation, preservation and lawful sharing of their research data. Publication in ABGMCE does not transfer ownership of research data to the journal.
