Analyzing the Challenges and Opportunities of Sustainable Urban Transport Systems in the United States

Abstract

The global concern towards improving the quality of urban transport about the environment and the social and economic well-being of the community has enhanced the concern for sustainable urban transport in the United States. This systematic review explores the possibilities and difficulties in organizing such systems. Combining innovation's policy, financial, technological, and social aspects reveal obstacles like fragmented governance structures, insufficient funding, and the public's rejection. It draws attention to possibilities brought by technological advancement, fiscal encouragement from the federal level, and systematic city planning. The conclusion drawn from this thesis can help policymakers, urban planners, and stakeholders make decisions about the way forward regarding sustainable mobility in the United States.
